Puddiet

Posted on October 6, 2008

Dave! After massive quantities of Benadryl last night and massive quantities of Cetirizine this morning, my welts finally subsided. Cramping went on for a while longer, but I'm all better now. I've decided to stop eating all peanut products and see if that fixes things. I'm not convinced a peanut allergy is the real problem, because I remember plenty of times I've eaten peanuts and nothing happened. But I've got to try something because I'm quickly growing afraid to eat anything.

Except chocolate pudding.

Chocolate pudding would never hurt me.

It's my favorite thing to eat. I think it always has been, as photo evidence will support...

Young Davy Eats Chocolate Pudding

Perhaps it's time for a puddiet... eating nothing except chocolate pudding.

Because pudding has milk in it and milk does a body good!

I do not know if this helps you at all, but I will give you a personal experience...I breakout in weird welts when I eat a certain kind of peanut butter, Adam's Natural Peanut Butter, turns out it's not the peanuts cause I can eat peanuts and be okay, but it's the oils in that certain peanut butter.

Perhaps you aren't allergic to peanuts but something added to the peanuts? Perhaps a certain oil or flavoring?

Just a thought, sorry you feel all sucky, hope things get better.

Benadryl is our friend! Just ask my sleeping patients...I kid, I kid, kinda.

For some reason, "puddiet" sounds like some weird sexual perversion involving pudding, animals, and naked people wearing French masks.

Pudding for every meal? I could get on board with that.

That's adorable

Oh my God, look how cute you were! Not that you aren't cute NOW too but you know what I mean...

I just downed a snack pack sized Jello Sugar Free Chocolate Banana pudding and it felt as if my mouth was dancing!

You have the same haircut! ;-)

Pudding is very good for you.

Everything in moderation. Even chocolate pudding.

Loooovely Dave! I would totally try that diet...

Oh my god, the cute little kid pictures! They're too cute! I can't stand it! The big collar! The orange pattern! You're cute as hell.

Now THIS is a diet I could jump on the bandwagon for!

Oh my God...did every parent take a picture of their child eating chocolate pudding? I have a picture of me in a brown outfit...the same color as chocolate...eating chocolate pudding. I think I was four years old.

Is it possible that you could have just recently developed a peanut allergy? I'm not a doctor of course but from what you are saying it sounds like that is what has happened.

How cute are you!

I dunno... you're reaching the age at which a white male often becomes lactose intolerant...

Dave -- you'd be amazed how quickly your body can bring on allergies to your favorite things. Definitely cut the peanuts my friend, sucky as it might be. I think it's Mother Nature trying to teach us a lesson...what lesson? who knows, but there's a reason why (other than the welts) that you shouldn't be eating the peanuts.

I learned the hard way, like you, about almonds. And I love almonds, but thanks to aging, I am now allergic. 4 days of itchy hives on a long weekend, waiting for the clinic on base to be open because Benadryl wasn't working was NOT worth it!

I just spit all over my screen at Adam's comment. *snort*

Good grief. With the exception of your signature shadow, you haven't changed in 30 years!

I don't have any pictures of me eating anything, let alone pudding. At least I've not found any yet. Those are a couple of cool looking pics from your kid days. And pudding.... it would never hurt anyone.

STOP already! Dang, like I don't already have to resist constant pressure from my very cute offspring to provide chocolate pudding for every meal, now you join the clamoring?!

I may just concede now because of your irresistible cuteness with the pudding. So if Costco goes out of business because I only buy chocolate pudding now, it's YOUR FAULT.

Awwww! What a cute bowl of pudding!

Well, that is one adorable, fresh-faced, happy kid. With pudding!

I hope that chocolate pudding never hurts you.

I'm searching through your archives to see if you ever did finally get to see an allergist. If they didn't test your blood to find out exactly what you're allergic to, then they suck.

I'm totally in favor of a puddiet, as long as there is no banana flavoring involved.

My husband is kind of in the same boat you are. He recently started getting violently ill whenever he ate sushi, after eating it for quite a while before it happened. No one else got sick and it happened more than once so it wasn't bad fish. After several ER visits (why do these things only happen at 3am??) we figured it wasn't worth it to try again. It makes him all sad though because sushi is almost as happy as pudding.

Oh my your adorable eating that pudding!!! You should totally make your own chocolate pudding not eat that store bought crap!! I'm just saying!!

Also, benadryl it makes me sleep so i take it. I guess thats why i don't get welts either!!! :O)

RW stole my comment.

Anyway, I'm more of a vanilla pudding addict. I like the swirl as well, but for me, it's banana or vanilla. I'll also eat tapioca if available and it usually is because everyone else hates it.
