Awww come on. There's always hope.

And besides, you are going on vacation!!! Woot!

Cheers to that reaching the right place!

That is perfect! I want that on a tee-shirt, or a bumpersticker. Awesome.

I prefer to think of my hope balloon just being knocked about by a lot of hot air

Floating away?

I just hope that we don't get tired of reaching...

One of my favorite lyrics is from Yes' "Hold On"

When we reach
We believe in eternity

The whole song is great.

Don't worry, there's always more.

I know it seems like it's getting away, but just keep reaching. Climb a nearby tree if you have to.

I totally "get" you on this. I am trying hard to hang onto my red balloon of hope for awhile longer though. Wish I had the ability to draw out my feelings as you do. I'd be doing a whole lot of drawing and posting for sure!

So why does bad monkey have that look on his face as though he is going to take out a 357 magnum and blow the balloon to smithereens?

Is it just me?

As I used to say, don't worry... Beehappy! ;)
I give you my secret for having hope : http://youtube.com/watch?v=7wMHcpMmV9g

P.S. I'm a big fan of bad monkey!

I love it :-)

Yep. A classic image, sometimes you're a genius, dude. But- they come in multiple units, you know... -sending you more balloons.

Posted by Whitenoise on September 03, 2008 | Reply

NO! I refuse to believe that hope is out of reach at this time.

Oh yes, a t-shirt of this would be lovely.

Hmmm. That cartoon reminds me of the song I was playing when I wrote a contest piece called Silver Linings about a woman who had reached the depths of despair, but found the courage to try once more to reach for happiness. She grabs onto hope and takes a chance and finds more of a silver lining than she ever imagined.

But down the road the sun is shining
In every cloud there's a silver lining
Just keep holding on (just keep holding on)
And every heartache makes you stronger
But it won't be much longer
You'll find love, you'll find peace
And the you you're meant to be
I know right now that's not the way you feel
But one day you will

I'm with Shari - that would be a fantastic t-shirt!

Oh no, don't let hope get away! I hope everything is ok with you and yours......your cartoons can make me so sad.

Posted by karla on September 04, 2008 | Reply

Didn't anyone ever tell you NOT to open that stupid box??

Although I always thought Hope would be more of a blue colour..

And since it's almost Harvest I figure the Monkey is just trying to remember where he left his picking ladder...

Hi Dave. Selma from Sydney, Australia here. I usually visit without commenting (sorry) but there is something so sweet and touching about this post that I had to say something. You have a true poetic sensibility. How lovely!

I hope the monkey will never stop reaching for HOPE in his life.

Good luck little Kingkong...
