Dave! You may remember me writing about the plight of a man and his husband to get their child a passport so he could come home. Happily, after two years of fighting, it was all sorted and Samuel is now where he belongs.

I just got an email that an update has been posted (you can turn on English subtitles in the Flash (original) Player if they're not on already)...

Yeah, how horrible. The kid really looks like he's suffering.

And yet I'm sure there are people who still think he's better off in an orphanage somewhere than in a family with two fathers. Because everybody knows that having gay parents will hopelessly ruin a child's life...

I wonder how long it will be before all these people up in arms over "protecting families" and "protecting marriage" finally get a clue. They are the ones causing problems for families. Everybody else is doing just fine...

I shudder to think how many kids around the world are stuck in orphanages and foster care waiting for a loving home. And yet we continue to debate the worthiness of families to adopt them based on the ratio of penises to vaginas in the home. Didn't we get past this crap in kindergarten? If we didn't, shouldn't we have?

  1. And have you seen the state of some of these self righteous “families”?!? Those two caring parents, who happen to both be men, are light years ahead of the craptastical asses who seek to deprive them of their right to a family.

  2. A loving couple of any gender mix is much better than one that isn’t, which seems obvious to me, but so many people just don’t see it. Who cares what gender someone chooses to love as long as they will love and take care of the child? I just don’t understand why it matters as long as they are good parents.

Awesome. Truly! So glad for a happy — if inexcusably belated — ever after for this family.

  4. kaylen says:

It’s so disgusting how homophobic our government is…loving couples deserve the right to raise a child moreso than any random football player who impregnates 6 women a year. It’s so sad that there are so many willing potential parents, but stupid laws keeping sweet little babies in cold orphanages.

I’ve always thought anyone against same sex partners adopting are protecting prejudice.

Kudos to these two fine fathers.

  6. the muskrat says:

Glad this story has improved, too.

  7. DutchBitch says:

I think any kind of family, be it 2 different sex parents, 2 same sex parents or just the 1 parent is perfect as long as they love their kids and provide a safe nurturing loving home and environment for them. So there…

  8. Tug says:

This? MADE MY DAY. SO happy for them, check out those smiles!!
