Cold

Posted on Friday, November 13th, 2009

Dave! This morning after waking up and working for a couple hours in bed, I took a shower, got dressed, and started packing up my crap to go into the office. Then I walked by my window, saw it was snowing, took my laptop back out of my bag, and sat down on the couch. I just wasn't in the mood to deal with snow on a Friday. Especially Friday the Thirteenth.

After an hour of winter denial, I scraped off my car and headed out into this snowy wonder bullshit.

Though I should probably clarify that it's not the snow that bothers me. It's the cold that comes with it...

DAVETOON: Bad Monkey shivering in the winter cold.

I just don't like being cold.

But even worse than the cold is having to travel in the winter.

Last year I was stuck in Seattle for a full week after weather shut down the entire airport, and busses and trains couldn't run.

Time to mentally prepare myself for my upcoming trips while trying not to freak at the thought of getting stuck. Again. As usual. Because going back through my blog, it seems to happen every year.

Waaah!

I’m so glad you said it was snowing – there was a guy in the casino in Vegas today who looked just like you – I wasn’t sure if it was you, but “you” weren’t wearing a blogography shirt but I’m sure the guy was wondering why I kept looking at him. I was tempted to shout out “Dave” to see if I got any reaction 😉

I am sitting here at work being cold as we speak I look ridiculous wrapped up in hospital blankets wearing slippers etc but if the patients are warm that’s the main thing at least I am healthy so what I’m really doing is NOT complaining, because I have my health and a great job.

    Oh i hate being cold…
    there is nothing worse…

give me a heat wave i can cope and i enjoy but cold… brrrr even the thought that winter is slowly getting here is depressing..

sigh… oh to wait for the carefree and warm days of summer.

  4. TR says:

At least you got stuck with someone cool! Your sister!

  5. Sybil Law says:

Maybe this year you can get stuck with someone awesome or with some great thing going on, though! I mean, if you’re gonna be stuck, that is. 🙂
I hate being cold. I am thin skinned and always cold when everyone else is fine. Hate it!

  6. Michelle M. says:

Being cold is the worst. I wore two pairs of socks to bed last night. And I live in San Diego. I feel for you.

  7. josh says:

I generally hate the cold except when I am going to sleep. I always turn the heat waaaaay down [aka saving $$$, huzzah!] and then climb into my cocoon of two sheets, two blankets, two comforters and three pillows. Waking up though…IMPOSSIBLE!

  8. Nenette says:

Ditto on the cold. And of course, I’m a tropical island girl living in a city where the windchill goes down to -35C every damn year.
We, in the prairies, love to say that at least it’s a “dry cold”, and after living in Vancouver where the moisture made winter feel colder than it really was, I’d willingly take the cracked dry skin and slathering of lotion over going through the “wet cold” again.
Good luck with the winter travel. Stay safe.
