Dave!Leave it to Hilly to come up with a new meme I can't refuse. Her "How Well Do You Know Me" entry is a bit more personal than I get here on my blog, but it still seemed like a fun thing to do while catching up on TiVo. Though, since nobody seems to read blogs on the weekend, maybe I should have waited until next week? Probably. Oh well, here we go...

  1. My current dream vacation would be...
    1. Touring through Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
    2. Taking an icebreaker cruise to Antarctica from South America.
    3. Exploring the Amalfi Coast of Southern Italy.
    4. A trip from Brisbane to Sydney to Melbourne in Australia.
  2. My biggest pet peeve is...
    1. People clipping their fingernails (or toenails) in public.
    2. People making crunching noises while eating in TV commercials.
    3. People that let their kids run wild and unsupervised.
    4. People who smack their gum while chewing it.
  3. No matter how bad I feel, doing this one thing will make me feel happy every time...
    1. Painting a scenic picture in watercolors.
    2. Bitch-slapping random idiots at the grocery store.
    3. Watching the last 5 minutes of the movie Millions by Danny Boyle.
    4. Eating a bowl of chocolate pudding with a stack of graham crackers.
  4. My DaveToon sidekick character of Bad Monkey is based on...
    1. Robert, my motorcycle-riding psychotic friend.
    2. Max, the homicidal rabbit from Sam & Max.
    3. Curious George, friend of the Man in the Yellow Hat.
    4. Calvin from Bill Watterson's Calvin & Hobbes.
  5. The first blogger I ever met in person is...
    1. Jenny from Run Jen Run.
    2. Jeff from Geekable.
    3. Kazza from Kazza the Blank One.
    4. Kevin from Kapgar.
  6. Total number of webfeeds I read, and the number of those that are personal blogs...
    1. 188 / 131.
    2. 227 / 170.
    3. 362 / 256.
    4. 390 / 316.
  7. The traits I most admire in people is...
    1. Honesty & Intelligence.
    2. Conviction & Compassion.
    3. Bravery & Strength.
    4. Hotness & Charisma.
  8. The person I would most like to beat severely with a baseball bat...
    1. Jared Fogle, the Subway Sandwich Whore.
    2. Doug Morris, CEO of Universal Music.
    3. Ann Couter, evil incarnate.
    4. Pat Robertson, hate-preaching bastard.
  9. The travel guru I most like to use as a resource for planning my trips...
    1. The Travel Channel's Samantha Brown.
    2. 1000 Places to See Before You Die author Patricia Schultz.
    3. Famous travel writer and TV personality Rick Steves.
    4. Brilliant travel storyteller Bill Bryson.
  10. My greatest phobia would be...
    1. Nosocomephobia: Fear of hospitals.
    2. Entomophobia: Fear of insects.
    3. Ophidiophobia: Fear of snakes.
    4. Acrophobia: Fear of heights.

Here's the really strange thing... on some of these, I don't even know what my answer will be!

  2. Hilly says:

I am so glad you said that last part because as I was reading through this, I was like “what the hell?” on quite a few of them cause it is so hard to choose! In fact, Imma put a (!) by the ones that drive me crazy ;). Thank GOD I know your guts cause I may suck at your facts.

With that said, here goes nothing:

    1. Taking an icebreaker cruise to Antarctica from South America. I really wanted to say Amalfi Coast but I don’t think you’ve done this cruise yet…maybe I am totally off on both!

    2. Sitting in the airport next to some jackass clipping his toenails while his wife smacks her gum while not only letting her kids run around like apes but also watching those dumb ass crunchy cereal commercials! (ok ok, I will go with gum cause it happens more often) (!)

    3. Watching the last 5 minutes of the movie Millions by Danny Boyle, with an honorable mention to the chocolate pudding!

    4. Robert, my motorcycle-riding psychotic friend.

    5. Kevin from Kapgar?

    6. Holy crap and you just told me this a few weeks ago…I think it is 277/170.

    7. Conviction & Compassion even though your friendship with me clearly would also make it “D” ;).

    8. Ann Coulter but you would throw the rest of them, with David Caruso, into a lion’s den and let them “play”.

    9. 1000 Places to See Before You Die by author Patricia Schultz.

    10. I really have no clue. I’m eliminating things one by one so I am going to go with Ophidiophobia. If you have a fear of hospitals, then you are even a better person than I think.

  3. Hilly says:

Wait, I think I want to change my last answer to fear of heights, thank you very much!

  4. Faye says:

Dave2, I’ve only been reading and appreciating your blog for a couple of months, but here’s what I think your answers might be.
    1. A, 2. B. 3. D, 4. C, 5. D, 6. B, 7. B, 8. C, 9, B, and 10. A

  5. bogup says:

These are all toooooooo difficult, Dave2.
Anyway, here are my wild guesses:

    1. My current dream vacation would be…
D trip from Brisbane to Sydney to Melbourne in Australia.

    8. Jared Fogle, the Subway Sandwich Whore.
    9. Famous travel writer and TV personality Rick Steves.
    10. Entomophobia: Fear of insects.

Was I supposed to do a search for these answers? I have a feeling I did really, really bad. Maybe it is just all C’s since that has been your response to everyone else’s 😉

  7. Jill says:

    I’ll play.

1 – It was a tossup between B and C. As cool as the idea of going to the Antarctic sounds, I really have no desire to ever go on a cruise, so B wins.

2 – Seeing as you don’t list stupid drivers as any of the choices, I have to choose C.

    3 – No brainer: B

4 – I would love to say Calvin (I loved Calvin and Hobbes), but I suspect the real answer is A

5 – None of the above

6 – Since I don’t read anywhere near that number of blogs, I had to go with ratios: D

7 – I’d have to go with A, but if you had one with loyalty in there, I would have picked that one…

    8 – D

    9 – C

10 – B, but only really big bugs

  8. Jill says:

I guess I misunderstood – the answers were supposed to be about *you* not me. Oops 🙁

Scrap the last post… new answers:

    1 – A
    2 – A
    3 – D
    4 – A
    5 – A?
    6 – D
    7 – A
    8 – A
    9 – D
    10 – A

  9. James says:

I love Rick Steves…I have a DVD collection of some of his travels. Dream spot: Hallstatt, Austria.

  10. some guy says:

    mostly C

  11. Aunt Robin says:

Okay, I can’t resist! Here goes:

Wait, I think I want to change my last answer to fear of heights, thank you very much!

    [grumbles]

Okay, Okay, I admit it. I copied Hilly’s answers. Heck, even you would copy Hilly’s answers.

We both trust her to know! Heh!

  12. webmiztris says:

I think my biggest pet peeve is when people hock up phlegm or loudly blow their noses in restaurants. It seriously grosses me out and pisses me off! What the fuck is WRONG with these people!?

I think this is like advanced level Dave, like post grad Dave. Can I just make some stuff up?

Okay, if they build a Hard Rock Cafe on the Moon, you will go there and get some stuff from it and take photos. And come back. And the flight will have probably left late.

You’re not too fond of when people have little phones plastered to their ears.

    Elizabeth Hurley.

    Composite?

Geekable, which I can definitely qualify as a wild guess.

B, cuz that’s what all the other kids are sayin’

You admire what is admirable about a given person

Yes, repeatedly, or maybe you’d be somewhat merciful with the sandwich dude because he’s kind of a naif and would probably ask you very nicely to stop.

Do you like Lonely Planet? Their books are gorgeous and use smart yet down-to-Earth language.

I don’t know a thing about your fears, but I can imagine the look on your face if the only seat left on the last possible plane that gets you to work on time was between Ann Coulter and Pat Robertson.

You get the same answer I had to give Hilly and Kapgar – I just don’t know you very well yet. Look forward to hearing what the actual answers are, in the hopes I get to know you better!

  26. Nearly every one is a toss-up. You didn’t really throw us any bones. It’s a good thing you were never one of my professors. Here are my best guesses: A, B, B, B, D, B, A, C, B, A… And I hope you’re grading on a curve.

  27. tori says:

I am going to go with D for all of them…answering all one letter got me through one class in college, so I am going to hope it works here too.

  28. tori says:

I have to clarify that I am not just being an ass, I really do think most of the answers are D. Maybe I’ll try for real to answer them just because I feel like my last comment makes me sound like an asshole.
