Dave!I have wonderful, amazing news.

Incredible, spectacular, miraculous news.

As I was heading home yesterday, I stopped at the mini-mart and found out that my beloved Coke with Lime is back! Sometimes begging and pleading actually works. What I am not sure of is if this is old stock that the Coke Man is trying to get rid of... or if it really hasn't been discontinued, and they were just going to stop selling it at that one store until I complained.

Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I'm just happy I can still buy it...

Dave with Lime

Coke with Lime kicks ass.

In other news: Ha ha. HAH HA HA HAAAHHH! BWAAAAAHH HAAAHH HA HAAAAAAHHH!

Vista Delay

Maybe they should call it "Windows VAPOR"?

For crying out loud... just buy a Mac and be done with it.

As for me? I'm going to Daveland...

Daveland!

Oh Daveland...
It's the place to sing a happy song.
Grab your wallet and come along!
Oh Daveland...
It's the place to have a great day.
Bring your money to pay pay pay!
Oh Daveland...
It's the place where fun times begin.
Give us cash or you ain't gettin' in.
Oh Daveland...
Dave how we love you!

I agree on the coke with lime thing. But isn’t it just good enough to add a bit of lime juice to the drink?

As far as I can tell, they don’t sell readymade coke with lime around here. The only thing they have is coke with lemon. And that’s just coke light with the nasty artificial sweetener taste 🙁

  2. Belinda says:

Dave–first, the Coca-Cola people are *not* messing with your head. Unless there really is some muckety-muck at the Coca-Cola bottling plant, or someone on the board, who reads Blogography and is just a HUGE fan. That would be awesome.

Also, I am disappointed at the seeming lack of monkeys, bad or otherwise, at Daveland. Or did I just miss them?

  3. Ben says:

    Schadenfreude. Dave = Schadenfreude. 🙂

  4. Shevy says:

Dave, Dave, Dave…check the expiration/born on date on the bottle. Like many of the “fine” beers that I consume, it’s on there, you gotta check the date!! duhhh Check it out!!

  5. Bec says:

Stock up, stock up quick… or it’ll be gone again… and then where will you be…?

At home, watching Bedazzled or other Liz Hurley goodness, drinking ‘classic’ Coke. Oh, the humanity!

  6. jenny says:

I cannot WAIT to go to Daveland! Do you serve alcohol at Daveland, though, because that no drinking thing is really a drag at Disney.

Please reserve one three-day DavePass for me!

  7. Bre says:

So did you stock up on it just in case they plan on yanking it anyway?

I envision a fort built of 24-packs of soda cans…

  8. Marcia says:

I also have mad love for the coke with lime – it makes Diet Coke tolerable! I’m going to hit the store right now!!

  9. One of life’s enduring imponderables is why do people still bother with PCs?

    I guess we’ll never know.

Congrats on the Coke with Lime. I hope you’ve stocked up.

  10. Patti says:

Great news! Now you can drop those golden oreos and get back to the habit that really matters! I’m guessing the person at your mini-mart had no idea why they stopped selling it only to start back up either.

Another tidbit I learned from my husband: if the vendor buys his product directly from Coke then there will never be any item older than 3 months out for sale. Coke distributors go around to their clients on a regular basis and sort of “repo” anything that hasn’t sold to take it back to the plant to be destroyed. However, if it’s a small vendor who buys it locally from a cheap wholesaler and then resells it…there’s no way for Coke to track dates on those purchases. I try to buy from places I know get the stuff directly from the bottler.

And each can/bottle has a code on it that if given to customer service can be tracked back to the exact person who worked the line to fill that exact coke.

Can you tell I’m a Coke nerd? Ha!

  11. nic says:

DAVELAND is Daveier than anywhere? This blogsite is pretty Davey, if you ask me.

But I’m in line for a ticket anyway
I have much money to spend today.

  12. Harold says:

    “DaveLand” sounds like a Casino ! I’m packing as I type……….

  13. adena says:

I don’t think they’re planning on discontinuing it. I don’t think they ever were.

There was never a shortage around here.

  14. Chanakin says:

I can’t find Daveland T-shirts online. Is there an email for the marketing department?

Hosanna to the n power! Coke with lemon does not mix well with the Captain.

They should call it Windows Hasta La Vista. Did you kiss your data goodbye today?

  15. rach says:

like ssp said, can’t you just get some limes? at restaurants, i order diet coke & ask for limes on the side…tastes pretty damn close to me.

  16. Daveland? – Well as they say, a man with full blown meglomaniacal delusions is rarely bored.

  17. Kevin says:

Well, this is starting to sound like the Sony Playstation III, isn’t it? That’s not coming out until November now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it pushed back even further. Microsoft and Sony are starting to come off as a bunch of schmucks.

  18. Jennifer says:

Dude…Target. 4 Fridge Pak cases for $10. And they had PILES of the stuff.

  19. ms. sizzle says:

you know what is REALLY good with lime?

    vodka.

    daveland looks like fun!

  20. sandra says:

Does Coke ever go bad? (have never been a soda drinker, so not sure) If not, you should stock up like mad while they still have it!

  21. Eve says:

…just buy a Mac and be done with it.

Right on, brother! Just got me a new baby. Gonna write about it soon.

I like the Diet Coke with Lime, but my favorite soda is Diet Cherry Pepsi. If that were discontinued, I’d have no reason to go on with life.

RE: Daveland — it’s so kickass. But, I recently found some insider information regarding a certain Dave-approved company with some theme-park action in the works. Even saw the blue print, gotta keep it on the down-low though, but if it happens, you will freak.

  22. “New” Windows Hasta La Vista, it’ll be old even before it’s on it’s way out…

I dunno, the name keeps making me think odd things like that.

  23. ChillyWilly says:

Coke with Lime is the bomb. One of my favs along with Vanilla Coke (which has been officially discontinued) and the new Black Cheery Vanilla Coke. The smooth lime taste is really good. And it beats Pepsi with Lime hands down. The Pepsi variety is way too sweet.

Sandra… as for how long coke lasts, it all depends what type of container it’s in and how it’s stored. Those little 8oz coke bottles, stored in a box and not exposed to sunlight can actually be good up to 8 years after… I know, I had an extra bottle I saved (i collect them with the various years and designs) and tried one recently. Not flat and still had a fresh taste to it.

OTOH, DON’T try one that sat on a shelf exposed to sunlight. Not flat, but taste wasn’t all that great.

  24. digibrill says:

Will have to try that soda. Oh yeah, and MS just busted the Christmas computer selling season. Sucks.
